Second Step Housing Information

Since 1996, Second Step Housing has been working to help eliminate homelessness in Clark County. As a community based non-profit organization, Second Step Housing exists to foster self-sufficiency for at-risk and homeless women and children through affordable housing linked with community services. In order to foster and sustain self-sufficiency, Second Step Housing offers a two-year transitional housing program, one-on-one case management, Life Skills Training, Parenting Classes, and Women Helping Women Program. Second Step Housing serves a very high-risk population. The average age is 26 years old, 70% have children in their custody, 54% are fleeing domestic violence, 93% are in recovery for substance abuse and 36% have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
