Second Sole was founded in Boardman in June of 1981 by owner Steve Hixson. Steve set out to deliver the highest quality running shoes and apparel to the local running community. While celebrating 30 years of business in 2011, this still holds true. over the years, Second Sole has grown and now provides “shoes, apparel, advice” to most of Ohio and western Pennsylvania. ​ Second Sole of Boardman acts as the company’s headquarters and has been recognized as one of the top 50 running specialty stores in the U.S. Second Sole in Lyndhurst continues to provide personal service to the greater Cleveland community. In business since 1988, our team takes great pleasure in assessing needs of customers to find the best fit. Second Sole of Gahanna officially opened it’s doors in September of 2001, and has undergone a large transformation since the days G.M. Randy Benedict was the only employee working open to close 7 days a week. Located on Hamilton Road (just south of Morse), Second Sole Gahanna is here to provide you with shoes, apparel and advice. We currently carry over 70 different running specific trainers for both men and women, ranging from lightweight neutral or stability to high-end cushioning or motion control. The Canton Second Sole opened in march of 2004 and has quickly become the favorite spot of runner’s in stark county. From hosting high school team nights, to running clinics at local YMCA’s, the Canton store has become thoroughly involved in the local running community. The Toledo area Second Sole location opened in august of 2008 and has continued to expand it's line of products and services since then. The store is located in Perrysburg at the Town Center At Levis Commons across the street from Jonny Rockets and Bar Louie.
