Founded in 1979, the Senior Expert Contact (SEC) provides hands-on, cost-effective support to small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions in developing countries and Eastern Europe. Highly experienced volunteers impart their expert skills and knowledge to SMEs and institutions, which otherwise do not have access to this level of professional, affordable support. This support is delivered by mainly retired professionals who volunteer their time and expertise. With many years of practical experience, they contribute to sustainable development by sharing their know-how on-site. Professionals who meet the criteria are welcome to join the SEC expert pool and take part in short-term assignments abroad or remotely. This project is part of the Swisscontact Development Programme, which is co-financed by SDC (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA).
