Search Skate is a global system of locally owned, on-line communities. Individually these communities offer regional support by ensuring local users have: access to content that is relevant to the interests, culture and language; opportunity to acquire digital skills; ability to participate in the building and governance of the Web from the local level; and direct access to all the Web's opportunities. Collectively, the communities create a new, multi-billion dollar Internet revenue stream, that is independent of advertising dollars and user fees. It is the Internet generating its own revenue, and becoming self-sustaining to ensure the Web remains an open, independent, people centered resource, that is owned and governed by the people who use it. The Search Skate system can be implemented quickly (months not years) with minimal start-up costs. It is currently being marketed to Internet browsers and other organizations focused on creating the Internet as a global public resource that supports the greater common good.
