Launching for the first time in 2021, SCUBASCREEN is the passion project of co-founders Frazer and Erica. Both avid SCUBA divers and sailors, they saw first hand some of the coral reef deterioration happening in the Caribbean. In 2016, they learnt that the very sunscreen they trusted to protect them, not only could be harmful to them but that it was bleaching and killing the coral below their fins. After a brief period of going sunscreen-free and hiding out in the shade, later that year, they got the news that both Frazer’s mother and father had been diagnosed with skin cancer. They knew then that they had to be the catalyst for change, and find a real solution! They searched and studied everything they could on sunscreen options. They lived and breathed their research for the next year. That is when they met John, an incredibly talented and dedicated cosmetics formulator. John too was inspired by their story and spent the next year collaborating with the pair to create a new and inventive sunscreen solution that could provide all-around protection! The project has since expanded to include a full line of eco-cosmetics with new product being added all the time. Trust what's in in our tanks!
