"Forecasting" in the social understanding of the term, has a close relationship with “speculation” – a term heavily loaded with negative outcomes. It gives rise to the view that future events are essentially unknowable – that when one of us makes a stand on a future event, we’ve essentially got half the chance to get it wrong. This is not the case. Emerging research and projects in the United States have shown that accurate forecasting is an innate skill that a rarefied few have – but a skill nonetheless that other can be trained in others. Scry is a forecasting platform that is built upon that research. It allows users to interact and engage with each other, to review their forecasts, all with the ultimate aim of improving their accuracy in forecasting future events. We’re here to let all of us peek, step by step, a little further into the future.
