Scran is an inclusive cooking app designed for neurodivergent cooks and helpful for anyone who wants to simplify cooking. Traditional recipes can create unnecessary mental load through dense instructions, hidden prep, ingredient amounts separated from the steps and too much information to track at once. Scran lets you save recipes from websites, social media, screenshots, cookbooks and handwritten notes, then simplifies them into steps that are easier to follow. It brings prep upfront, puts ingredient amounts directly into the steps and breaks longer instructions into smaller tasks you can tick off as you cook. You can also adjust servings and measurements, cook one step at a time and turn your recipes into aisle-sorted shopping lists. Co-designed with neurodivergent cooks, Scran helps people spend less energy trying to follow recipes and more time enjoying cooking. Scran is a bootstrapped company, proudly made in Scotland by Grant Macgregor and Jonny Kirkaldy. The founders are always open to connecting with fellow founders, product and growth people, and anyone interested in accessibility, neuroinclusion or the future of cooking.
