Scottish Tech Army Information

The Scottish Tech Army is a not-for-profit organisation that connects skilled technology volunteers with charities and third sector organisations to help them solve real digital challenges. We support organisations that want to improve how they work but don’t have the in-house skills or budget to do it alone. Whether that’s reaching more people, delivering services effectively, or using technology to save time and resources. The Scottish Tech Army was launched in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and has since grown to address a wider challenge: many third sector organisations lack access to the digital skills and tools that could significantly strengthen their impact. Our volunteers help bridge that gap. We also work closely with companies across the tech and tech-related sectors, supporting them to contribute skills, expertise and resources to create positive social impact. In 2022, this work expanded with the launch of the Tech for Good Alliance, a structured programme that enables companies to collaborate on projects that deliver demonstrable benefit for the third sector. Across both the Scottish Tech Army and the Tech for Good Alliance, we welcome individuals and organisations who believe technology should be used to create social good.
