The American Academy of Dermatology is a non-profit medical specialty association founded in 1938. The work we do on behalf of our members, their patients, and the public is guided by our mission to promote leadership in dermatology and excellence in patient care through education, research and advocacy.
With over 200 employees, we support the largest, most influential and representative dermatology group in the United States. With a membership of more than 20,500, the AAD represents virtually all practicing dermatologists in the United States, as well as a growing number of international dermatologists. The AAD is committed to advancing the diagnosis and medical, surgical, and cosmetic treatment of the skin, hair, and nails; advocating high standards in clinical practice, education, and research in dermatology; and supporting and enhancing patient care for a lifetime of healthier skin.
The American Academy of Dermatology Association is the sister organization to the AAD, and is the resource for government affairs as well as health policy and practice information for dermatologists. It plays a major role in formulating policies that can enhance the quality of dermatologic care.

The National Scleroderma Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1998 to advance medical research, promote disease awareness, and provide support and education to people with scleroderma, their families and support networks.
Supported by a network of thousands of individuals across the United States, the Foundation helps those living with scleroderma by providing support and education at the same time that it funds peer-reviewed scleroderma research. Since its founding, the Foundation has committed over $30 Million to discover the cause, understand the mechanism, and overcome scleroderma forever.
The Foundation is home to the National Scleroderma Conference—the only educational program of its kind and scope in the U.S.—which provides access to leading scleroderma experts and up-to-date information while serving as the central meeting ground for the scleroderma community. In addition, the Foundation's Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma walks are the country's premier awareness and fundraising events which are organized by the Foundation’s local chapters and take place throughout the year at multiple locations and virtually across the country.
The Foundation is led by a dedicated, volunteer Board of Directors that exercises its fiduciary responsibilities, an extraordinary, volunteer Medical & Scientific Advisory Board comprised of world-renowned physicians and scientists, and an exemplary professional staff committed to advancing its mission through the organization's cultural values of care, connection, diversity, integrity, meaningful work, and trust.
The Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF) is America's leading nonprofit investor in medical research to discover improved treatments and a cure for scleroderma.
Our collaborative model for medical research brings together the best in science and technology for the benefit of scleroderma patients.
The SRF was established in 1987 by patient turned activist Sharon Monsky, when research on this potentially life threatening illness was nearly nonexistent. Since inception, we’ve stood firm in our belief that the best way to help scleroderma patients is to fund medical research aimed at better therapies and a cure. Patients and their loved ones find hope in the fact the SRF is dedicated exclusively to funding medical research that will help them live longer, fuller lives.
Led by a Scientific Advisory Board comprised of some of the world's most highly respected medical experts, the SRF continues to expand a research portfolio that aims to understand what causes scleroderma, how it progresses and how we can not only halt, but also reverse the disease process.
The SRF is responsible for helping to launch and support two of the world's most respected Scleroderma Centers of Excellence at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and at Stanford University.
Cool Comedy - Hot Cuisine is the SRF's high-profile, signature event, featuring world class performances by headlining comedians and special musical guests along with gourmet food prepared by celebrity chefs. The event takes place in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.
Thanks in large part to the SRF, its supporters and its partners across academia and industry, research is progressing at a faster pace than ever before.
