Southern California Coastal Ocean Observing System is 1 of 11 regions that contributes to the national U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS®). As the regional observing system for Southern California, SCCOOS, has developed the capabilities to support short-term decision-making and long-term assessment by implementing and leveraging biological, chemical, and physical ocean observations and models, many of which are available in near real-time. We are a network of experts and research teams working together to collect, generate, and aggregate coastal ocean data, forecasts, and products. Our principal goal is to provide observations and products to a diverse stakeholder community of managers and planners, operational decision makers, scientists, and the general public.
