Scanlon Foundation to focus on strategic, proactive grants to improve the impact of its philanthropy The Scanlon Foundation has recently undertaken a strategic review of its granting history and in particular the effectiveness of its annual community granting program. The Foundation considered both the individual and the collective impact of these grants. As a result of this review, the Foundation has decided to discontinue its annual community grants for the foreseeable future. Instead it will focus on major multi-year projects with an emphasis on place-based and issues-based collective impact initiatives. These projects will be initiated by the Foundation, will continue to be based on the findings from the social cohesion research undertaken in conjunction with Monash University and the Australian Multicultural Foundation and focus on a partnership approach.
