The Mint Museum is North Carolina’s first art museum dedicated to international art and design. With two locations—Mint Museum Randolph and Mint Museum Uptown—it houses one of the largest collections in the Southeast. The Mint is committed to engaging and inspiring a global community through innovative exhibitions and programs. Mint Museum Uptown: In the heart of Uptown Charlotte, this location is home to our renowned Craft + Design collection. Permanent collections include American Art, Modern and Contemporary Art, and Craft + Design, along with a rotating series featuring local artists, Constellation CLT. Mint Museum Randolph: Located in what was the first United States branch mint, it opened in Charlotte’s Eastover neighborhood as North Carolina’s first art museum. Permanent collection galleries include Art of the Ancient Americas, African Art, European Art, and Native American Art. This location also houses the Mint’s library, which contains over 23,000 books, 230 magazines, and 5,500 artist files.

Artspace is a non-profit visual arts center located in Downtown Raleigh. Visit Artspace for our exhibitions featuring national and community artists, our more than 30 artists working in their studios, our artists in residence, and for our art classes for all ages and abilities. We are a space for creativity and social practice composed of artist residencies, exhibitions, arts education, and community outreach. The Light Factory's mission is to promote the power of image, in Charlotte and beyond, by informing, challenging, and stimulating audiences through photography, film, and other light-based media to see their world through a different lens. The Light Factory is one of only four museums in the United States that promote the power of image through photography and film, featuring large-scale exhibitions of photography and digital video art, year-round screenings and major film events, as well as more than 90 classes in photography and filmmaking, and life-changing outreach programs.
