Im so happy youre here. Grab a cookie, take a seat, and let me introduce myself. Im Sally. Im a mother, baker, blogger, author, photographer, and well-known lover of sprinkles. Ive been in the kitchen for most of my life. From a very young age, I watched my mom and grandma work their baking magic, and once I picked up my first mixing spoon, I was hooked! I do most of my baking in Maryland with my husband (and number 1 taster), Kevin, and our beautiful daughter, Noelle. Of course, our family wouldnt be complete without our two rescue dogs, Jude and Franklin. Baking has always been a welcome creative release for me (the warm cookies are a definite bonus!), and Im blessed I can call it my career. When Im not in the kitchen, I love running, hiking with my dogs, vacations at the lake, and experiencing all the exciting firsts with my baby girl. Life is good! I started Sallys Baking Addiction in 2011 as a personal blog and an easy way to share my baking recipes with my friends and family. At the time, I felt a little lost in both my career and life, but the kitchen always kept me centered. My small hobby blog quickly ignited a passion for food photography and teaching others how to bake, not just what to bake. Just a year and a half after launching my blog, I quit my full-time job to build Sallys Baking Addiction into a business. Since then, Ive written, photographed, and published 3 cookbooks ( this one , this one , and this one ), went on a 20-city national book tour, and hired 2 assistants, Stephanie and Hilari, to help me manage my business. Im so grateful this has been my path in life, and it all began with the simple decision to chronicle my recipes online. As a self-taught baker myself, Sallys Baking Addiction has become a trusted resource for fellow dessert lovers who are also eager to bake from scratch. On my blog, youll find hundreds of from-scratch recipes that are inspired by seasonal favorites and recipes that have been passed down to me. If I could live in any other place, I would live in either Tokyo, Japan or Dublin, Ireland. I love reading and writing, but have more talent with the former than the latter. I may be obsessed with Nigella Lawson. I am happily married, have three dogs, I love hockey, I am a proud Texan, and I have a perpetually messy house.
