Saudi Society for Respiratory Care (SSRC) is a scientific non-profit organization, established in 2005 under the umbrella of Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (formerly called Dammam University) to develop and support the profession of respiratory care in Saudi Arabia. In particular, the Society is charged with conducting and sponsoring scientific activities related to Respiratory Care. The first meeting of Society members was held in December 1st, 2005, and that meeting was devoted to honor those who contributed to the establishment of Respiratory Care profession in Saudi Arabia. During the second meeting that was held in November 22, 2006, the board members of the society were elected. After that, two branches were established in the main provinces of Saudi Arabia, Western Branch late 2008, Central Branch mid-2010, and finally Southern Branch in 2014.
