Saratoga Federated Church Information

We are followers of Jesus on a transformational journey, participating with the Spirit to fill the world with God's love, justice, and beauty. Saratoga Federated Church traces its heritage to 1920 when two churches decided to join together as one interdenominational church. Since that time, SFC has grown and served the local and global communities. Our neighbors in Silicon Valley are from all around the world, highly educated, and driven to succeed. However, there is also a hunger for meaning and purpose that pervades our culture. We are located in the perfect place to fill the world with God’s love, justice, and beauty. SFC has a strong history of reaching out locally and globally to serve those in need. During the Pandemic and wildfires in California, we gave away hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid and relief. We also supported local businesses, fed front-line workers, feed families, and served our local community by participating in numerous work projects around the city. We value recognizing the image of God in everyone, giving and serving with generosity, and pursuing theological discovery. We are building a culture that creates engaging and participatory experiences, offers opportunities to belong, to begin in faith, and to become like Jesus, and challenges and equips people to love their local and global neighbors. Currently, we are working to ignite, champion, and practice uncommon unity around our mission. Our new Philosophy of Worship Gatherings (see below) will apply all three in their unique ways. The aim for our worship gatherings is to facilitate an environment—celebratory, liberating, engaging, full of hope and expectation, affirming, restoring, free of distractions, thought provoking, and reflective, full of meekness and life-giving grace—where humans can meet with God.
