SapuraOMV Upstream is a strategic partnership between Sapura Energy Berhad and OMV Exploration & Production GmbH, a subsidiary of Austria's OMV Aktiengesellschaft. The Joint venture is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and has equal representation in its Board of Directors. Sapura Energy Berhad is a leading global integrated oil and gas operator and solutions provider operating across the entire upstream value chain. As a fully-fledged upstream player, the Group's spectrum of capabilities cover exploration, development, production, rejuvenation, as well as decommissioning and abandonment. OMV is one of the largest listed industrial companies in Austria, producing and marketing oil and gas, innovative energy and high-end petrochemical solutions – in a responsible way. In Upstream, OMV has a strong base in Romania and Austria and a balanced international portfolio, with the North Sea, the Middle East & Africa and Russia as further core regions. SapuraOMV Upstream has a strong portfolio of production assets in Malaysia as well as exploration interests in Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. The partnership has identified Malaysia as its hub to expand into Asia Pacific, and its combined strengths and expertise will pave the way for the joint venture to become one of Asia's leading oil and gas independent companies. Through its operating subsidiaries, SapuraOMV Upstream has been entrusted by PETRONAS to be the sole operator for blocks SK310, PM323 and PM329; and the joint operator for block SK408 with Sarawak Shell. The company is also a PSC partner in blocks PM318 and AAKBNLP, operated by PETRONAS Carigali.
