The Santalucia Group is a Queensland based company, which has grown from an earthmoving business that commenced over fifty years ago. The Santalucia Group commenced business in the mid 1950's when the founder, Franco Santalucia began his first earthmoving business in the Burdekin. Since those humble days, the Santalucia Group has expanded and diversified into a number of business directions, including agricultural and pastoral holdings, property development, manufacturing, franchise development & hospitality & entertainment. The development focus of the group was the acquisition of property in Brisbane and Townsville, with a view to provide land for future subdivision. Industrial subdivisions that the group has completed incorporate estates in the suburbs of Virginia, Northgate, Brendale and Garbutt. The Santalucia Group has also been involved in hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and other commercial investment properties over the years. Currently, the group has a number of projects in progress, which include expanding the Red Rooster Franchise in Townsville. The Townsville Red Rooster franchise supports sporting organisations, schools and church groups. In 1997, the Group constructed a commercial/retail complex called "Bamford Village" in Kirwan, the primary tenant of the complex holds the record of the highest grossing free standing Red Rooster store in Australia. The Santalucia Group has a number of developments in the pipeline. Further stages of residential housing will be expanded in Kelso, Rasmussen and Wulguru. These projects will include park residential and lifestyle apartment living, with mountain, river and ocean views in a number of these developments. A subdivision in Hervey Bay will incorporate both beachside residential and tourist facility land. A commercial development is planned for land in Brendale.
