Albuquerque Public Schools is the largest of New Mexico's 89 school districts, serving about a fourth of the state's public school students in 143 schools scattered across 1,200 square miles.

Attracting some of the finest students and teachers in the country, Albuquerque Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school of 1,100+ students in grades 6-12. The Academy serves the greater Albuquerque area and commits its resources to a mission comprising accessibility, affordability, excellence, caring, and outreach. Emphasizing mastery of fundamentals and independent judgment, the Academy seeks the full academic, creative, moral, and physical development of each student, offering a challenging curriculum with more than 20 Advanced Placement courses and required participation in experiential education and community service programs.

Bosque School, a 6-12 grade Albuquerque independent school, challenges traditional education.
