Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club is based at Lockwood Park in Huddersfield. It is a multi sports venue, function and meeting facility and is home to 28 businesses. HRUFC First XV play in National 3 North. We are also home to the Falcons, A-Team, Academy, and Age Grade teams. Halifax Rugby Union is the oldest Rugby Union Club in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale (Calderdale has six Rugby Union clubs). Our membership age ranges from 3 to over 80 and across a wide range of age groups with both male and female playing and non-playing members. Halifax Rugby Union has a proud history, winning 13 Yorkshire Challenge Cups, Champions of: North East 1 (1999/2000), North 2 East (2000/2001), North 1 (2001/2002), National League 3 North (2004/2005) and Yorkshire 6 (2009/2010), Winners of RFU Powergen Intermediate Cup (2002), Highest League Position: National League 2 (2005 – 2008). From the 1920s until the 1950s Halifax had 3 England & 1 Scotland Internationals playing for the club during their international career, including 1 British Lions Captain. We are a small club on the North East Coast of Yorkshire, a very friendly club with an emphasis on traditional rugby values. Our main aim is to provide sport and a place to meet for our surrounding community. We are affilated to the RFU and the YRFU. We currently play in Durham & Northumberland League Division 2 level after winning promotion last season and our Harlequins play in the Teesside Social League. We always welcome new players to the club.
