The San Jose Chamber Music Society (SJCMS) is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to bringing affordable concerts of the highest quality to Santa Clara County. The Society was formed in 1986 to promote chamber music in the South Bay Area, to provide a forum for San Francisco Bay Area musicians, and to promote education about chamber music. It holds the distinction of being San Jose's primary subscription chamber music presenter. Since 1994, the Society's concert series has been held in the historic downtown San Jose performing hall, 'Trianon Theatre', a venue known for its intimate setting and exceptional acoustics. The programming emphasizes stylistic diversity, and exposes audiences to music from the 14th through the 21st centuries. All artists are of national and international stature.
