Samis Foundation Information

The Samis Foundation works to strengthen Jewish life in Washington state and Israel through education, strong communities, and opportunity. Established in 1994, the Foundation has awarded more than $110 million in grants to more than 150 organizations, programs, and initiatives. In Washington, our work is centered on Jewish education. We support Jewish day schools, camps, youth programs, leadership development, and other initiatives that strengthen Jewish life. Through our research, partnerships, and grantmaking, we also share practical lessons with communities across the country working to expand access to Jewish education and strengthen its long-term sustainability. In Israel, Samis supports archaeology, immigration, college and technical scholarships, assistance for widows and orphans, wildlife preservation, and other initiatives that improve lives and strengthen communities. The Foundation also provides disaster relief in response to wars, natural disasters, and humanitarian crises around the world.
