Strengthening Actions in Menstrual Health Hygiene Interventions for Promotion of Women's Health in Nepal (SAMIP): A five year K01 study. This study aims to systemically assess chhaupadi (menstrual seclusion in Nepal) intervention evidence to date to inform the co-design and pilot of an intervention aiming to mitigate the negative consequences of chhaupadi in Nepal. In the short-term, this study is expected to result in a community-designed intervention that is contextually appropriate for addressing chhaupadi in Nepal, build upon components of successful interventions to date and address gaps that have limited their impact. In the long-term, it is expected to lead to improved safety and reduced morbidity and mortality for women in Nepal.
