PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) is a non-government, non-profit organisation that works with smallholder farmers in rural India. Across ten states in the country, PRADAN professionals engage with disadvantaged communities to help them emerge from poverty and lead a life of dignity.
PRADAN promotes Self-Help Groups, develops locally relevant economic activities, mobilises finances from government schemes, and introduces models to improve livelihoods of the marginalised communities and sustain their progress. As of 31st March 2026, PRADAN along with partners, impacted the lives of 3.07 million rural households spread across 29.449 villages, in 761 community development blocks, 154 districts, and 10 states of India.
Goonj is turning discarded & underutilized material of cities into a tool to bring ignored issues to light & convert it into resource for rural development.
We are a company owned by over 2,000 artisans in villages and small towns across India — predominantly Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kashmir & Manipur. For our artisans, craft is not just a source of income but a mode of expressing their history and identity. For Rangsutra, our artisans are not just suppliers but decision-makers who participate actively in the supply chain.
Our journey started in 2006, when our founder, Sumita Ghose, wanted to create sustainable livelihoods for highly skilled rural artisans by giving them market linkage. This vision remains even today: We continue to create opportunities for inclusive growth by acting as a bridge between artisans and markets, change and continuity, and tradition and modernity.
Our guiding principle is 'Respect for All -- the producer, the shareholder, and the customer.' Each garment we produce follows a fair trade process that allows our artisans to thrive in and beyond their working environment through equal pay, fair wages, a safe working environment, and skills training.
We believe in the beauty of collaboration over competition: the celebration of shared victory and teamwork. Forming and nurturing enduring partnerships is essential to our mission. Our partners like Fabindia & IKEA have helped us reach out to artisans across the country and to customers across the globe.
