Sacred Heart College (Saharco) Old Boys Association USA is an alumni organization of students that attended Sacred Heart College Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. Our association is based in the United States of America, but our membership is worldwide. The goal of Saharco Old Boys Association, USA (SOBA USA) is to unite, rekindle, and celebrate our childhood memories and upbringing from an institution that made successful men out of young boys. SOBA USA was first inaugurated in 2001 in Atlanta Georgia, United States. Since our first gathering, our organization has embarked on various projects aimed at revitalizing and renovating our alma mater. We have made contributions towards renovating older buildings, fencing and security of the compound, as well as adding towards the technological advancement of Sacred Heart College. In an attempt to promote academic excellence among the students as well as incentivizing the teachers, some members of our organization have set up awards aimed at rewarding outstanding performance from both the students and the teachers. Two of the awards, Dr Maduka Awa Prize for outstanding performance in Physics and Benjamin Anyanwu MEMORIAL AWARD for outstanding performance in Mathematics, are in honor of two past influential teachers who went above and beyond in teaching the students at the school. There are also other awards such as: Chief William Okorie prize and Teresa Okorie memorial prize set up by some of our members to honor their parents. We will continuing to ensure that Sacred Heart College Aba, (Saharco) remains an educationally rewarding institution, and a memorable stepping stone toward success in life for the youth that walk through her gates.
