Housing Forward’s mission is to transition people from housing crisis to housing stability. We provide a comprehensive solution to impacting homelessness and housing instability. Using best practices of Prevention/Diversion, Trauma-Informed Care and a Housing First Approach impacts the lives of 2,000 adults and families with minor children each year. We have transformed the lives of more than 20,000 people since 1992.

Formerly known as Homeless Services Center, Housing Matters is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the largest local organization addressing homelessness in Santa Cruz County. Our mission is to partner with individuals and families to create pathways out of homelessness into permanent housing. Donor contributions support our emergency shelter programs (including housing navigation and placement), personalized case management, day services with showers and bathrooms open to the public, on-site supportive services, and the construction of permanent supportive housing—now underway—for our unhoused neighbors most in need. Shelter of Hope, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit homeless shelter helping the homeless in the FIVCO Area of Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties in Kentucky. Our mission is to provide temporary emergency shelter and permanent housing assistance for individuals and families in need of transitional services leading them to self-sufficiency, and for whom no services are available from existing community resources. Preference is given to homeless households, families with children, homeless veterans with or without children, adults with disabilities, and domestic violence victims unable to enter the local Victim Service Provider. Provisions for our guests are made without discrimination because of age, race, color, creed, religion, sex, handicap, national origin, familial status, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
