SACRAMENTO WATERSHEDS ACTION GROUP Information

Sacramento Watersheds Action Group (SWAG) is a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation which solicits grant funding to restore salmonid and riparian habitat. We provide education and awareness and try to provide jobs in restoration to the private sector. Our most recent work is in Sulphur Creek, a small tributary to the Sacramento River in Redding, CA. We have organized a CRMP (Coordinated Resource Management Planning) Group for several years and conducted a Sulphur Creek Watershed Analysis. SWAG has been involved in numerous restoration projects throughout the Redding area and are skilled in dealing with erosion and sediment control, native vegetation restoration, community volunteer group coordination, and report writing. We also utilize bioengineering techniques, restore stream form and function to provide spawning and rearing habitat for Chinook Salmon, Steelhead and Rainbow Trout.
