Ryan is a San Antonio based DJ, videographer, writer, editor, and record label owner with a BA in film and TV production from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. He moved to Dallas following graduation in 2012 to produce a mini-feature documentary on refugee resettlement funded by the Southern Methodist University Department of Human Rights, and followed that up with a number of freelance lighting, grip, and assistant roles on productions across Texas, thereafter. In July of 2012, he began an online rock music publication entitled Proper Yarn as a spin off of a college radio show on Loyola's KXLU 88.9FM. From this website came a moniker for show sponsorships, booking, promotion, and live DJ sets in the San Antonio music community along with a radio show of the same name Wednesday nights on Trinity University's KRTU 91.7FM from 10pm-12am. Additionally, he heads an independent cassette and vinyl label entitled Yippee Ki Yay Records that launched in June of 2014 and has since grown to feature local shows, an annual SXSW showcase, and a number of releases from artists in Texas, Argentina, Spain, Sweden, and across the globe.
