The Rochester City School District is one of the 5 largest school Districts in New York State, employing approximately 6,000 staff members and serving approximately 22,000 students, with over 50 schools and programs. While Rochester serves as the home territory for the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres, it also hosts several minor-league sports teams, including the Rochester Red Wings baseball team and the Rochester Americans hockey team.

The Gates Chili Central School District (GCCSD) serves most of the Town of Gates and a large portion of the Town of Chili. Gates Chili has six schools: four elementary (UPK-5); one middle school (6-8); and one high school (9-12) and covers a 26-square-mile area in a community situated between Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes. As a diverse community next to the City of Rochester, the state’s third-largest city, Gates Chili offers easy access to a variety of sporting events, cultural events, and several colleges and universities.
