RT Minds (formerly RTProjects) is a mental health charity based in County Durham using creativity, connection & compassion to save lives. Our work is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal, grow and thrive — given the right support, understanding, and opportunity to connect. We use creative activity as a catalyst for recovery and suicide prevention, providing a safe, inclusive space where people can rediscover confidence, purpose, and belonging. Through art, music, and shared experiences, we help people express what words alone can’t – transforming isolation and despair into hope and self-worth. Our small, dedicated team brings deep experience in trauma-informed practice, mental health support, and community engagement. We work alongside people, never above them, fostering genuine relationships that make long-term recovery possible. Every person’s story matters, and every creative act can be a step towards life. RT Minds collaborates with local partners, referrers, and national networks to respond to the changing mental health landscape. We are proud to be part of a compassionate community that understands the importance of early intervention, prevention, and human connection. From our welcoming base and outdoor spaces in Durham, we run creative sessions, wellbeing projects, performances, and peer-led initiatives — all designed to strengthen community resilience and challenge stigma around mental health and suicide. RT Minds: Creativity saving lives. Connection changing futures. Compassion at our core.
