Reconfigurable Space Computing Lab (RSCL) — Cal Poly Pomona Mission: Build secure, reconfigurable computing for autonomous aerospace systems—and validate it with real hardware and field experiments. RSCL designs, builds, and deploys space-ready compute and intelligent vehicles across four thrust areas: Autonomous systems: UAV swarms (EDF, turbine, solar), CubeSat-class drones, UGV–UAV teaming, precision docking, and maritime/subsurface platforms. Secure comms & crypto: Post-quantum cryptography (Kyber, Dilithium), lightweight cryptography (ASCON), secure boot, GPS-seeded keys, and robust real-time telemetry. Edge AI & flight software: F´ (Fprime) on FPGA/SoC, RISC-V and embedded platforms, distributed edge stacks with K3s/Kubernetes, and onboard CV/NLP (YOLO, BERT) for real-time decision-making. Reliability & energy: System-level modeling, power/energy profiling, and resilient architectures for harsh environments. Track record: Multiple NASA MINDS semifinalist and finalist teams (including award-winning PQC-for-Space work), hands-on multidisciplinary training for ECE & Aero students, and sponsored projects across defense and space. Get involved: We collaborate with industry, government, and research labs—and welcome motivated students and partners. 📬 mealy@cpp.edu #RSCL #CalPolyPomona #Aerospace #UAV #SpaceSystems #EdgeAI #PQC #Fprime #FPGA #RISCv #Kubernetes
