When we introduced the R-121, we didn't just launch a product — we reignited an entire microphone category, reintroducing the warmth and natural fidelity of ribbon technology to a new generation of recording engineers and musicians. That momentum never stopped. Following the success or the R-121 we launched the SF-12 stereo ribbon mic, the R-122 — the world's first phantom-powered ribbon microphone — and the R-122V tube ribbon mic. In 2013, we received the Technical GRAMMY® Award from The Recording Academy, recognizing Royer Labs for bringing ribbon microphones into mainstream recording worldwide.
