Rosenfeld Consulting is the Medicolegal Practice of Conjoint Associate Professor Tuly Rosenfeld. A/Prof Rosenfeld has established the practice to provide services for patients, carers and families, doctors and legal professionals (Lawyers, Solicitors, Barristers and Special Counsel) with information, advice, medicolegal assessments and reports regarding a range of issues, problems and needs. The Ageing of our society has led to a range of issues that have never before needed to be addressed. At the same time as the numbers of old people are increasing the need to deal with the complexity of living independently within society, and at home, has increased. With increasing age a range of problems and special needs begin to occur. The brain is unique and imperfectly understood. The ageing brain is similarly complex. Only in the last 30 years has the need to better understand its complexity arisen along with the availability of some of the tools with which to do so. A/Prof Rosenfeld has 25 years of experience as a Geriatrician, clinician, and hospital specialist. He has expertise in the assessment and treatment of older peoples' medical problems, functioning, memory, thinking(cognition) and the issues that lead to, or threaten, independence and well being. A/Prof Rosenfeld has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care of people suffering from memory problems and dementing illness. An analytical and forensic approach to history, physical signs, documentary evidence and investigations is required to provide the most accurate and useful opinions. This is similarly the key to legal issues, assessment of testamentary capacity, capacity to undertake a range of other legal and medicolegal issues (Power of Attorney, Guardianship, Contracts etc). Assessment of the key medical, physical, mental, psychological and social issues and circumstances occurring beside or on a background of cognitive decline ensures that these assessments and opinions are specific, accurate and reliable.
