Rockboro Primary School is an independent, co-educational and multi-denominational school for children aged 4 to 13 years which aims for academic excellence and the development of the individual talents and interests of each child. Our extended academic curriculum and our broad range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities delivered by specialist teachers foster the intellectual, personal and physical development of our pupils. Rockboro has over 45 years experience in the education of children. We believe that small class sizes are essential in creating an environment where pupils thrive academically. For this reason we limit the number of pupils in each of our classes. The individual attention that our pupils receive from their teachers enables them to fulfil their academic potential and develop their talents while building their confidence in their own abilities and judgement. In addition to fostering academic achievement, we are committed to developing the child as a whole person. We teach our pupils to respect others, to be honest and to treat others as they would like to be treated. We emphasise the values of responsibility, tolerance, consideration for others, perseverance, kindness and integrity. We are a multi-denominational school where cultural diversity is celebrated. We welcome children from all religious backgrounds, including those with none. Rockboro Pre-School provides a caring and nurturing environment in which children’s skills are developed through a diverse range of activities, play and interaction with others. Our highly qualified and dedicated teachers aim to foster a love of learning in the children and to establish the foundations of literacy and numeracy in a fun, happy and structured environment. The teacher/pupil ratio in the Pre-School is 1:10 and a maximum of 20 children attend each day ensuring that each child receives the individual attention he or she needs to flourish.
