Robomotic was formed in 2008 to design robotic solution for domestic use, that's why the name is composed of two words: Robot and Domestic. Robotic solutions for domestic use are becoming increasingly important with the progress of autonomous systems. The market needs is from general usage to personal needs, such as Roomba by iRobot for clearing and social alarm for personal use. Robomotic tends to provide robotic solution for the domestic market and in previous projects Robomotic utilized its latest monitoring technology for tracking babies (SafeBaby) and drivers (SafeDrive). SafeBaby is a portable monitor which detects automatically (day/night 24h) if the baby is assuming dangerous position which can cause death by suffocation. SafeDrive is a portable monitor for car drivers which prevents drowsy driving in day and night conditions. It uses adaptive image processing algorithms to detect the blink eye rate of the driver and estimate if the drowsy condition is going to happen. Robomotic has recently identified a large opportunity in terms of social alarms for the aging population which is increasing dramatically and there is a large unsatisfied demand in personal care. The main issues of independent living are domestic accidents that accounts for the majority of injuries between elders. A typical domestic fall will cause unconsciousness, hypothermia and in 72 hours a death. Solitude plays also an important role. EMMA (Elder Monitoring Mobile Assistant) is the main project we are working at the moment. By using latest robotic technology and social networking, it helps elders (typically over 65 year old) living independent life and provides peace of mind for their family. EMMA is the latest technology in the social alarm market.
