The ROBOMATE project, funded under the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Future Digital Challenge, aims to develop an accessible, easily deployable collaborative robotic system designed to perform repetitive manufacturing tasks. This system is intended to function as a smart tool that can be programmed by operators irrespective of their background, age, abilities, or disabilities. It allows untrained workers with task experience to teach and supervise collaborative robots during physical operations, combining human intelligence and experience with robotic precision to enable flexible, high-volume manufacturing without reliance on low-cost labor.
