"The principal goal of the Roberts Environmental Center (REC) is to involve students in real-world environmental issues and to train them to analyze the issues from as broad a perspective as possible, taking science, economics and policy into consideration. The Environment, Economics, and Politics (EEP) major is sponsored by the REC.The Center’s current research is focused on global corporate environmental transparency and performance. Students and faculty analyze the environmental and sustainability reporting of the worlds largest corporations and publish the results in technical papers, commercial books, and on this website. The Center’s interest in environmental law, environmental biology, and natural resource management is reflected in its courses on these topics, and in senior theses and student summer projects it supports, many of which are carried out at the CMC Burger Reserve. The REC is named for George R. Roberts '66, Founding Partner, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co."
