Okland is a fourth-generation, family- and employee-owned builder with more than 1,500 team members across Utah, Arizona, and Idaho. Founded in Salt Lake City in 1918, we’ve spent more than a century building lasting relationships, developing great builders, and taking on work that matters. Today, Okland ranks #59 nationally on ENR’s Top 400 Contractors and #5 across the Mountain States and Southwest.
In 2026, we expanded our legacy of ownership by introducing an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Today, the fourth generation of the Okland family works alongside employee owners who have the opportunity to build a meaningful stake in the company and share in the success they help create.
We understand the responsibility that comes with building places that become part of people’s everyday lives—from hospitals and universities to advanced manufacturing facilities, stadiums, and civic spaces. We take that responsibility seriously because how we build matters just as much as what we build.
That starts with our people. We’ve built a culture where people are trusted to do great work, encouraged to keep growing, and surrounded by teammates who want to see each other succeed. From Registered Apprenticeships and NCCER craft training to technical development, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, we invest in giving people the tools and opportunities to build meaningful careers at Okland. Our team members stay with Okland more than 20% longer than the construction industry median, 97% say they’re proud to work here, and more than 20% earn a promotion each year.
More than 100 years in, we’re proud of where we’ve been, but we’re even more interested in what we can build next—and the people who will build it with us.
