RMIT Racing is a student managed organisation based at RMIT University’s Bundoora Campus. Since its inception in 1999, the team has brought together a diverse range of participants, from first years to post-grads, whom are tasked with designing, manufacturing and testing an open wheel race car for the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) competition. This is currently the largest university-based engineering competition in the world. It consists of both static and dynamic events, working in collaboration with partners to produce and justify an efficient race worthy vehicle. It allows us to develop interdisciplinary skills covering engineering, business and project management to prepare for duties required in the workforce. In 2007, RMIT Racing won the competition World Championship. In the coming years, we are striving to emulate that success by pushing the boundaries of innovative design. By utilising best practice methodologies and diligently improving our standards, we are currently on track to deliver our most ambitious package yet.
