Legacy Academy For Children®
With the choice of the name, Legacy Academy For Children®, we laid the groundwork for the mission and philosophy of our organization. Your children are your legacy, hence our motto “The perfect beginning for your legacy®.”
Our schools are located throughout the Southeast and we continue to expand our operation. Each Legacy Academy is a proud part of the communities we serve. Since even before we began construction on our very first school decades ago, quality early care and education has been our focus. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of nurturing thousands of young children and preparing them for future success. Our name and trade identity are synonymous with the highest end of the spectrum of educational facilities for children.
From Legacy’s copyrighted curriculum to our adherence to the rigorous standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Legacy Academy sets the bar for exceptional educational childcare. Thunderbird Adventist Academy is a private school that is governed by its own School Operating Board under the direction of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist educational system is to prepare young people for success in the 21st century and beyond. The accreditation standards are rigorous. TAA is accredited with the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC); Association of Seventh-day Adventist Colleges & Secondary Schools; and North Central Accreditation Association. Since 1872, the Seventh-day Adventist educational system has focused on educating the "whole person" while teaching young people not only to excel academically, but to develop healthy bodies and a strong spiritual lives. Because we are a small school, our classroom sizes are smaller where students can receive more personal attention by the teachers and better preparation for college and future accomplishments. According to Cognitive Genesis, a four-year study following 30,000 students enrolled in Seventh-day Adventist schools across North America, our students score a half-grade level higher in all subjects, but the longer they attend an Adventist school, the more their average achievement jumps - up to the 73rd percentile.
