Kaituna Cascades, established in 1991, is the original company to explore and open up the Kaituna River for commercial use. We are the first company to name the now famous rapids and give people the opportunity to paddle rafts and Kayaks (Topos) down this awesome river. Locally owned & operated out of our sweet rafting base in Okere Falls, we are positioned in an awesome sunny location, surrounded by a scenic reserve that backs onto the shores of the Kaituna. We are the closest and most accessible company to the river! The Kaituna River is a grade 5 white-water experience on one of New Zealand's most exciting and beautiful rivers. It is home to the world famous 7 metre Tutea Falls - the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world. The action packed trip also includes rafting down 14 epic rapids in a tight and twisting warm water jungle canyon. We are incredibly lucky to have such a white water enthusiasts dream river in our backyard. All of the guides are handpicked, highly skilled professionals that come from an extreme whitewater background in Kayaking and Rafting. It is a company of paddling champions, with super friendly guides that strive to give the safest and most entertaining trip on the river! We also offers trips on The Wairoa River (Grade 5) in Tauranga in the summer, and The Rangitaiki River (Grade 4) Bay Of Plenty year round.
