Every year, 127 billion kilograms of plastic end up in nature & rivers. Plastics break down to microplastics and enter our bodies via the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. Latest research shows this can cause cancer, infertility and disturbs our hormones. River Cleanup is a global non-profit organization on a mission to clean rivers by empowering people, preventing pollution, and accelerating change. Since the start we activated +380.000 people in 102 countries and collected +4mio kg of river waste. We are implementing our scalable Clean River Model along 3 rivers (Indonesia, Cameroon, India) and will scale to 100 rivers by 2030 and expand to 1000 rivers by 2050. Together for clean rivers!
