Rivender is a start-up company founded in the summer of 2013 after 5 years of development and testing. Our key innovations are patent pending. Creating a fully automatic retail store for food requires a vending solution which:* can be scaled from a few hundred to thousands of products* is easy to configure for different sized products* is gentle for fragile food products* works in fridge and freezer temperatures* has simple mechanics* is easy to clean and repairThe vending systems currently available for food products are typically based on conveyor belts or robotics. These systems are heavy, complex and demanding to service, and they usually serve only one customer at a time. In most instances the customer does not see the actual products, but makes the selection based on pictures. Rivender vending solution solves these problems and offers unique features for a fully automatic retail store:* modular on product level* vending modules are customizable* modules do not drop or damage the products* operating in temperatures from -20 °C to +30 °CRivender's modularity offers 6 different sizes of modules for different sized products ranging from candy bars to frozen pizzas and from toilet paper rolls to 3 kg bags of potatoes - not to forget eggs or milk. The modules can be used for any packaged product. As all modules are customizable, the store can be tuned for optimal configuration: switching units is easy and quick, and requires no tools or substantial training. Broken units can be changed for a spare one and dirty units can be cleaned in a central workshop. Initial installation is also easy as no component of the entire system weighs more than 20 kg. For consumers, an automatic store using Rivender vending solution is as convenient as the current supermarket. After registering with his/her credit or debit card at the control station the customer can select the products from the vending modules, just like he/she would pick them off the shelves of a regular supermarket.
