Met ingang van 1 januari 2015 is het RISO gefuseerd met het Arnhems Radio Therapeutisch Instituut (ARTI) en vormen zij samen de Radiotherapiegroep. http://www.radiotherapiegroep.nl/ Het RISO was een zelfstandig radiotherapeutisch instituut gespecialiseerd in radiotherapeutische behandeling van kankerpatiënten. Er werd gebruik gemaakt van externe radiotherapie (uitwendige bestraling). Daarnaast was het RISO gespecialiseerd in de brachytherapie (inwendige bestraling), vooral bij prostaatkanker en gynaecologische tumoren.
