Hockey Alberta is the third largest provincial branch of Hockey Canada, and is the acting governing body for amateur hockey in the province of Alberta ranging from the levels of minor hockey to senior hockey including the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Hockey Alberta has approximately 450 member organizations representing more than 90,000 participants. All players are coached, officiated and developed through certification courses, programs, education and training provided through Hockey Alberta..
Hockey Alberta is a volunteer driven organization with more than 500 volunteers involved in different roles from the Board of Directors to committees, councils and program areas.
Hockey Alberta's main office is located in Red Deer, at Red Deer College. In addition, Hockey Alberta operates five Regional Centre offices, with locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Lloydminster.
The Alberta Soccer Association is the largest individual sports association in Alberta with over 120,000 registered members. Alberta Soccer, in collaboration with its membership and partners, strives to create a centre of excellence for the game, providing opportunities for all players to reach their full potential.
With the goal of serving 23 Regular Members and 3 Associate Members, the Alberta Soccer Association:
-Promotes participation in, and enhances development of, soccer in Alberta
-Promotes and supports all levels of soccer competition in Alberta including provincial and national selections
-Governs the sport of soccer in Alberta and produces supporting documentation such as policies and by-laws
-Encourages and fosters personal development and training of all players, coaches and referees in the province
-Coordinates provincial festivals, tournaments and cup competitions on an annual basis
-Promotes respect and equality in the game and is inclusive to all members of society
-Provides the necessary means to resolve any internal dispute that may arise between Members, clubs, officials and players of the Alberta Soccer Association.
-Offers health insurance for soccer related incidents to all members.
