Richard's Camp Information

Richard's Camps offer the discerning traveller luxury tented camps in two different locations in the very heart of the Masai Mara. Designed with privacy, exclusivity as well as adventure in mind we ensure a warm and memorable safari. Richard's RIVER Camp is located in the Mara North conservancy, idyllically set on the banks of the Njageteck River. With only 6 tents and one family tent, the River Camp is ideal for individuals as well as exclusive groups who wish to experience the Masai Mara in a personal intimate setting. Beautifully appointed with furnishings and fabrics collected by Liz on her travels - the result is a casually luxurious tented camp, combining exceptional wildlife with a contemporary ‘Out of Africa’ experience. All tents are ensuite with hot showers. Richard's FOREST Camp is the original Roberts' family home in the Ol Choro conservancy, which was was set up while they carried out conservation work in the Mara in the 1980's. In 2000, Richard took over the small family home along with his girlfriend, Liz Fusco and converted it into a secluded retreat for those wishing to experience the Masai Mara within an original tented environment. Furnished in true African style, but featuring modern amenities, this camp has a slightly more 'rustic' feel and is often referred to as a 'home away from home'. All tents are ensuite with hot showers. Both camps run off a solar system which provides clean, silent power and ensures 24-hour light to all the tents. WiFi is provided in the mess areas of both camps for checking emails if needed.
