Since Restoration Ministries was launched six years ago, and because I am convinced that it was God™s revelation that the ministry name would be Restoration, I have been tuned in to what I notice around the world in other ministries named Restoration. I believe that the work of restoration is evidence of the greater movement of God and I am encouraged by this. Often when I see the current state of affairs in our world, my gaze easily shifts to the problems, instead of towards God and what God is doing right in the midst of the problems, and in and through many as we are invited to partner with our Creator. Among the range of meanings of the word restore is to return, to bring back, to refresh, to repair, and to recover. All of these meanings point us back to God as the One to whom we return. God refreshes, restores, repairs, and through God™s Spirit, brings us back into the beauty and refreshing of communion with God. I believe this happens as gift, grace from God, as we return; but also happens as a graced process in the context of relationships with others who are also in this journey toward wholeness and healing. There are many other churches and ministries with restore, restoring or restoration in its name. Long ago God was specific with me about what I saw as problems. It became clear to me that rather than putting out fires that were burning and destroying, I was to attend to the underlying causes " the heart issues that we each carry that manifest in our behavior, choices, and ways of being. This particular ministry of Restoration is about the state of our hearts. We attend to inner life dynamics and help others deepen in their prayer and ...
