Restart, Inc. Information

Restart, Inc. is a Minnesota-based non-profit organization that teaches basic skills to adults with brain injury and related disabilities who are struggling to live independently. Since 1986, we have helped individuals maximize their personal potential so they can live happy, healthy and productive lives in the Twin Cities community. We provide safe and nurturing environments through our Residential and Outreach programs that are customized to each individual’s unique needs. A brain injury truly cuts across all economic, ethnic, age and gender groups. When a person sustains a brain injury, their life can change in many ways. Personality, behavior, cognition and memory can be affected. At Restart, our clients gain confidence to interact with others, access to activities and the ability to make their own choices. As clients increase their skills, they move along the continuum of independence and reintegrate into the community with purpose and dignity. The foundation of our mission is human rights – every person’s right to dignity, quality of life, gainful employment and equal access to opportunity. Restart, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and a proud member of the Charities Review Council.
