ResPublica is an independent non-partisan think tank. Through our policy innovation and research programmes, we seek to establish a new economic, social and cultural settlement for the United Kingdom. To combat the concentration of wealth and power, we work for the greater distribution of ownership, democratic authority and agency for all. In order to heal the country’s social wounds, we seek the ties that bind and the policy that will rebuild and rectify. To mend its cultural rifts, we work to encourage a re-instilling of codes that share virtue and values across all parts of our country. Our ideas are founded on principles which move beyond the current political dichotomies of left and right. We favour the pursuit of the common good and the development of real wealth that promotes human flourishing. We believe that this cannot be sought without the encouragement of individual character, merit and virtue, combined with courageous leadership and respect for the continuing development of our institutions and their received traditions.
