Respiratory Care Solutions Information

Respiratory care solutions was established in 2015 by Melissa Canavan and Sarah Anderson who originally founded Leeds Respiratory Network in 2013 with the aim of educating practice nurses. The atlas of variation shows that Leeds is one of the worst in the country for respiratory outcomes and we wanted to try and reduce some of this variation through education. Over the past few years the network has grown to include all members of the multi-disciplinary team from pharmacists to prison nurses, school nurses to SALT's we have members from primary, secondary and community care. We formed our social enterprise to rise to the challenges the NHS are currently facing. From an ageing population, staff shortages and a decreasing budget. We are dedicated to ensuring patients with respiratory disease receive high quality reviews and treatments, that will improve overall outcomes. Our motto is to standardise care and reduce variation. As a social enterprise most of our profits will be reinvested back into the business and we will spend this on education and leadership for healthcare professionals. We believe all patients should receive high quality, evidence based care close to home. For this to happen you have to have confident, educated staff who are valued and supported.
