ReSpace Projects Information

We have pioneered a community reuse system for empty buildings and wasted resources – giving them a social purpose in the transitional period before they are redeveloped, re-rented or formally occupied. What ReSpace does: • provide free advice, support and resources for community groups. • help communities access free space, and in some cases facilitate spaces, such as the Hive Dalston and Zero LDN. • improve local community engagement with meanwhile and community projects • provide opportunities for shared learning, through hosting workshops and conferences • advise local authorities and the commercial sector about social responsibility, resource efficiency and community engagement We have worked with local authorities including Camden, Hackney, Newham, Southend and Peterborough; community organisations such as Transition Town, National Food Service, Migrant Refugee Service, Turkish Refugee Association and Safer on the Streets campaign; and academic organisations including University of Arts London, University of East London, Bartlett's Real Estate Institute, University College London and Goldsmiths.
